7-7-21 THOUGHTS

In a sermon several weeks ago, we discussed Eph 4:20-5:2 and  Rom 12::9-21.  These sections of passage tell us how God wants us to live.  The passages below do the same.  The initial verse puts a SOCIAL context on our living the Christian life.
It’s in the Church, encouraging one another and building each other up!   Eph 4:15-16    but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,  16  from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

1Thes 5:11-24   Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. 12  But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, 13  and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another. 14  We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15  See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. 16  Rejoice always; 17  pray without ceasing; 18  in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19  Do not quench the Spirit; 20  do not despise prophetic utterances. 21  But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;  22  abstain from every form of evil. 23  Now
may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24  Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

Mic 6:8    He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
Titus 2:11-14   For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12  instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13  looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,  14  who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

Think carefully on the verses above.  They are simple, easy to understand words.

My Prayer:
O God, you have called us, in Jesus, and we know that you will bring all of your promises to pass.  We praise and honor you, and lift up your great name.  We desire heaven with you eternally.  Help us to pass our brief time in this life, giving you our hearts and living in accordance to your will.  We want to abide in you, O Lord.  We desire your presence in our lives continually. Give us a closer walk with you each day.       It’s in Jesus name that we pray        Amen
